I will definitely stay here again as opposed to staying in town. Wifi was nice and fast in the room, and was included in the room price, as was parking (again, a very big deal, as I vaguely remember paying $35 a day for parking last time I stayed at the Sheraton downtown.) You seriously cannot hear a THING outside your room, even when your eyes are telling you there is a train about 500 metres away. There are airplanes zooming RIGHT over this resort, but the soundproofing is hard to believe. The room had a bag of garbage left behind despite being impeccably cleaned otherwise, and the front desk was very apologetic and took care of it immediately. Our room was a nice size, with two queen beds and a huge (my last two trips were to Europe, I've stayed in rooms the size of the River Rock washroom!) washroom with full size tub and shower.

Every single person said hi and smiled, which does wonders for my overall impression of a hotel. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, as was every other staff member I encountered. No epic distances or stairs to haul the family and no $16 valet parking bill. The parking lot was only about 200 feet from the front desk of the hotel which was ideal. I couldn't figure out where to park, but the efficient parking valet on the casino side immediately found my name in the database and gave me directions to the hotel parking. My first impressions when I pulled into the resort were confused. Truthfully, I chose River Rock Hotel because of its proximity to Ikea (we live on nearby Vancouver Island) as well as the hotel pool which boasted an amazing looking waterslide. My children are 6 and 12 and they like nothing more than an indoor pool to brighten their holiday. Spring break rolled around and I needed something to do with the kids.
